The Story Behind the Purchase: I knew I wanted these shoes weeks before they were released, but for some odd reason, I was extremely lazy the morning they finally arrived, so I decided to sleep in rather than have to wake up to buy yet another pair of shoes. Later that day, I was beginning to regret my decision and was a little upset that I didn’t purchase them when I had the chance. A few days later, I remembered that True, a local sneaker boutique located a block away from San Francisco’s famous Haight-Ashbury corner, had received the shoes and I had the urge to call them and ask if they had any left. To my surprise, they had ONE pair left, a size 11, and I immediately asked for them to put it on hold. I called my father, and he swung by the store later that evening to pick the shoes up for me.
My Opinion: These are one of those pairs of shoes that simply looks better in person. In other words, my photos do not do them justice. As soon as I took the shoes out of the box, I was blown away. The way the light reflects off the multi-colored surface is a sight to see. Watching it change colors right in front of my eyes amazes me every time I pull them out.
