The Concert: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival 2016
Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is a free, non-commercial music festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. It has been held on the first weekend of October every year since 2001.
The Experience: Because Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is a free concert in the park, getting close to the stage was not difficult. There was a small crowd of people standing up front, but, for the most part, people sat on various blankets farther back. I think it also helped that I was at the Porch Stage (which was the smallest stage at the festival) and not at one of the stages where people like Cyndi Lauper or Chris Isaak were playing.
There was a sign posted by the stage that read “NO audio or video devices allowed,” but the security guard did not seem to mind when I took pictures.
The Editing: The concert was outside during the daytime, so there was not any artificial lighting used like there would be in a typical show. I attempted to color correct, but for the most part just ended up using presets. Hopefully my editing knowledge and ability to properly use Adobe Lightroom will improve.
