Sunset Media Wave is a Bay Area Community Resources program located at the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset district. We are funded by the SF Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF), the California Arts Council (CAC), and private donations. All of our partners believe in the transformative power of the arts and its potential to elevate, challenge, and nurture our community.
Mixed Vegetables: Sports Champ
Hannah Cosselmon
Since my last post, I had my friend and fellow Waver, Amanda, tell me a story about how she injured her arm in wrestling. The original recording was 17-minutes long, and so I edited it down to a more manageable chunk to animate to. Take a listen to a lil’ bit of it below if you’d like! We recorded it in a soundproofed broom closet.
As of now, I’m planning out a film that will loosely follow alongside the recording of Amanda’s story. The gif at the top of this post is a test of how I’d like the film to look. I’m probably going to animate and overlay tendons snapping and sweaty athletes on top of various foam clips (like the ones I covered in my last post).
