Hello, my name is Katrina and I’m going to talk about trash! Yeah. Really. Here’s the thing: I’ve always been extremely passionate about taking care of our environment. I also feel like the topic of waste is an important one to focus on, because it usually doesn’t receive the proper recognition that it needs. Especially now, with climate change and environmental destruction becoming larger problems than ever, we fellow human beans seriously need to step up our collective game and start taking action. That being said, I think the revolution starts with bringing public awareness to the issue of heedless human consumption and waste.
In this column, I’m going to be showcasing the obscene amounts of trash that humans produce every single day and how this negatively affects our environment. Rather than turning out annoyingly long informative essays about trash, I will be posting a series of photos along with captions, infographics, and maybe a few interesting videos here and there. I hope this column will inspire others to become more conscious of how our everyday choices and actions directly impact our Earth. Together, I think we can make a difference. It just begins with a little bit of Trash Talk.
