My first reality features the scenery of Ocean Beach, a place I have been exploring and discovering since the dawn of my memories. Growing up so close to these serene waters and endless waves, I have developed a fond admiration for the ocean that graces our coast. As a child, I remember watching the water rush past my bare feet and then pull back to form another wave. I remember running in the sand and walking home, leaving a trail of footprints behind. Now, as a teen, I wander through the coves and watch the sunset with my friends. Just looking out the window and seeing the blue in the distance calms me every time and my appreciation only grows.
The song I used to represent this part of me is “바다” (Sea), a hidden track from the Love Yourself 承 ‘Her’ album by BTS. I chose this song because its message about hopes and trials perfectly represents my connection with the ocean and how I have come to grow alongside it. The ocean has been, and always will be, a part of myself.
