Music is bread for the soul.
No matter who you are, no matter what you do, you have come across beautiful music at least once in your life. Music that reaches out to you, pulls you in, and makes you feel like you’re part of a vast, ever-expanding community of people much bigger than yourself. Music weaves connections between unique, individual people, who might not otherwise have realized how much they have in common. We all experience anger, joy, fear, and a host of other emotions, and music reminds us that we’re not alone in feeling how we feel. For all of these reasons, music means so much to me.
Music has such a huge significance in my everyday life, and is something I love VERY VERY much, so I decided to dedicate this summer to creating and producing some music of my own. I drew inspiration from songs written by some of my fellow wavers, the current temperature (mid-80s and 90s all week), and my favorite Snail Mail song, and just like that, Heat Wave was born.
My goal is to write, record, and produce an original track in the next few months, and I can’t wait to start! In this post, you can see photos from Day 2 of the heat wave, and my cover photo features lyrics from “Heat Wave”, by Snail Mail. Stay tuned for more quality content.
