It’s finally here.
After an entire year of brainstorming, songwriting, practicing, recording, editing, mixing, and stressing, my song is finally 100% done. I’ve spent so much time and energy on this song (if you followed my last few posts about the song-making process, you know exactly what I’m talking about) that it’s still a little hard to believe that it’s already being released.
I just got the song back from being mastered, so it’s been a few months since I finished it up. Listening to it now, there are definitely things I noticed in the song that I feel like I could do better, but I’m also happy with how the song turned out now. Now I just have more motivation and ideas about how to make my future works even better, because this is just the beginning… I hope you like it!
Without further ado, I present to you my first original song, “Like Stars.”
Song Description:
“Like Stars” is a pop song about the beauty and happiness that one can find in a genuine friendship. The first verse starts with nothing but a single vocal track and a piano backing, creating a more simplistic effect. Once the song reaches the first pre-chorus and chorus, the percussion, bass, and vocal harmonies are added. Throughout the rest of the song, other instruments such as strings, cymbals, and electronic keyboards are featured along with stronger vocal harmonies. Verse one and verse two of “Like Stars” both share a minor tune while the bridge, pre-choruses, and choruses are in a major key, and the contrast is meant to bring out an uplifting spirit.
