Pose is a short film created by Madelynne Hewett, a founding member of Sunset Media Wave and current student at San Francisco’s Ruth Asawa School of the Arts (a.k.a. SOTA). Written along with another former Waver, Jamie Wu, Pose takes aim at the “psychological impact the media has on women” and “the mental chaos that ensues with the idea of perfection.” The result is a stirring five-minute meditation on the affects mass media bombardment has on young women—it’s dark, twisted and just a powerful film from such a young artist. You can watch Pose above and learn more about the film, which Madelynne has entered into Connecther’s awesome Girl Impact the World Film Festival, here.
