Currently, I’m working on painting this photo I took of the Eiffel Tower. I’m about halfway done and the painting will be complete a little after Thanksgiving Break. The tower was built between 1887 and 1889 as the entrance to the 1889 World’s Fair and criticized by some of France’s leading artists at the time, but soon became iconic and is now one of the most memorable structures in the world. The tower is 324 meters tall, which surpassed the Washington Monument to become the tallest building in the world back when it was built. Here’s a sketch that I drew in preparation for my painting.
